What started out as an ordinary quick winter weekend getaway turned into a lifestyle.
Our first trip to Disney World together was to Epcot in January of 2001. We lived in Pennsylvania then, put up with winters, and started planning annual trips to Disney.
After that our lives kind of progressed like this:
Soon after our first trip to Disney World our parents retired to Florida, which meant our trips moved from once a year to twice a year – sometimes even more – as were sure to add a few Disney days into each visit with our parents.
10 years after our first trip to Disney World we were planning a trip to Paris. Once we realized how close Disneyland Paris was – plus how accessible it is from the airport via train – we couldn’t resist adding a few days on to that trip to visit Disneyland Paris.
11 years after our first trip to Disney World we moved to Florida. We had a good job opportunity and a chance to live on the Florida coast. No snow! Close to Disney! It didn’t take us long to decide to make the move from Pennsylvania.
12 years after our first trip to Disney World we became Annual Passholders. Finally! We could go to Disney whenever we wanted! This is why we moved!
14 years after our first trip to Disney World we visited Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. While we were there we were sure to visit Griffith Park in Los Angeles which serves as the home to Walt’s Barn that was moved from his property to the Park. The Carolwood Pacific Society takes care to ensure Walt’s true love of trains is told as well as maintaining the barn he worked in – and where the concept of Disneyland was born.
16 years after our first trip to Disney World we found ourselves in Disneyland Paris again. This was a chance to explore both parks and enjoy rides that are not in the US yet.
17 years after our first trip to Disney World we launched our blog. We want to share our experiences, dining reviews, love of the parks and all things Disney, as well as our respect for Walt Disney the man.
We didn’t know on that January weekend all those years ago we would live in Florida, be Annual Passholders, or one day have a blog dedicated to Disney. But here we are sharing our pictures, thoughts and experiences with you!
